Software and Entrepreneurship
Throughout my career, I have been oriented toward making Software, as well as entrepreneurship, even though mastering the latter is, for me, a much slower process than the former. I've learned to work with large, complex systems with a high degree of expertise, and now I am focusing on using those skills to build things people use.
In this journey of becoming an entrepreneur, or simply an agent that is adapted to its environment, I also started a coaching business, offering transformation; this was my entry point into marketing and business building, which is, in essence, relationship building.
Designing and Building Products that People Use
The shift from being an engineer to being an entrepreneur is learning to build products or services that people actually need, and communicating in a way that people understand. How do we make products that people use?
Starting small - GitHub Publish Obsidian Plugin
I've built a small plugin for Obsidian that allows you to publish notes on GitHub Pages using an open source static site generator that converts notes into a website. This is a common approach to publish notes, and there are already a couple of established solutions to do just that in Obsidian. So why build another one? Is it useful?
Focusing on ease of use
I tried to use one of those existing solutions myself, and I just could not. I am sure they work, but the configuration was not intuitive; you had to read documentation, understand the workflow, etc. So I chose to make my plugin as accessible as possible, so that you could reliably publish a site with a few clicks in less than a minute. And it worked; people are actually using it. Starting small, after a month:
- 23 users registered
- A few new sites published, and updated every day I'm proud to show the adoption curves and the growing number of published sites.
